RECOMBITEK(Merial)Equine West Nile Virus Vaccine is recommended for the vaccination of healthy horses as an aid in the prevention of viremia due to west nile virus infection. It contains lyophilized recombinant canarypox vectored West Nile Virus Vaccine, plus a 1ml sterile liquid diluent. The canarypox vector has been modified using recombinant technology to express the desired antigens capable of stimulating an immune response within 26 days after vaccination.

NOTE: NO RX NEEDED TO PURCHASE ANY WEST NILE VACCINE

DOSAGE:Administer 1ml dose IM(intramuscularly)initially and repeat 4 to 6 weeks later and annually. Use a sterile 3ml syringe and a sterile 20 gage 1.5 inch needle. For horses vaccinated against West Nile during the last 12 months only an annual vaccination with one dose is required.

For horses that were never vaccinated against West Nile an initial dose followed by a second dose 4 to 6 weeks later is required.
